On December 6, 2018, the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA) reorganized the boundaries of its regional professional organizations. As a result, Pierce County Nurses Association (PCNA)’s boundaries have expanded to cover Pierce, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Mason, Kitsap, Jefferson and Clallam counties. All WSNA members who live or work in these counties now have access to all PCNA programs, activities and events. PCNA seeks to provide community engagement and professional development opportunities for members living across the Olympic Peninsula as well as in Pierce County.
For more than 100 years, PCNA has been an active, vibrant professional organization serving nurses in Pierce County. We look forward to including our new regional members.
The PCNA Ballot will be arriving in your mailbox by the end of February. This year’s integration of Pierce, Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Kitsap, Clallam & Jefferson counties make this a very important election. More information about WSNA’s changes to the jurisdictional boundaries of the constituent associations, can be found in the PCNA Newsletter – Winter 2019.
All PCNA members have the chance to vote on leadership, bylaws and dues.
All board positions are open for election this year to allow all members in our newly combined districts an opportunity to vote on leadership. We encourage members who are interested in joining the PCNA Board to add their names to the ballot and complete a consent to serve. Click here to download a pdf of the Consent to Serve form.
If you would like more information about any of the board positions, please contact us at email@example.com.
Bylaws – Proposed PCNA Bylaws
Click here for a pdf of the proposed bylaws. Once approved, these bylaws will govern PCNA moving forward. Areas struck through will be removed. Red text will be added. If you have any questions about the proposed bylaw changes, please call us at 253-572-7337 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In order to provide support across a large area while continuing to increase educational offerings and community outreach, the PCNA Board is proposing an annual dues of $45.00 ($3.75 a month or $1.73 per pay period). Dues to your local district have always been a part of the WSNA dues payment.
Although each district has had different annual dues, they have always been part of your WSNA membership. Members in our newly combined region need to vote on one dues amount that will allow PCNA to grow and support nurses across 7 counties.
If you have any questions about your current district dues or the need for this dues vote, please give us a call at 253-572-7337 or email us at email@example.com. We are happy to answer any questions.
The PCNA Board wants to provide PCNA members a chance to discuss a new name before moving forward on name change. We’d love to hear your thoughts. Please use the form below to share your ideas on a future name for PCNA.
